How to have this kind of make-up? Somebody teach me how.

 THE SILENT TREATMENT

Most of us think that our boyfriend has a psychic capability and expect them to do what they’re supposed to by giving them the silent treatment.

Usual scenario… Gutom si girl friend…

BF : Saan mo gusto pumunta?

Dead Air.

Girls don’t only do it with their boyfriends but with their girlfriends too. Which I’m so guilty about and experienced it one way or another. By doing so, you try to ignore someone’s existence no matter what they do to get your attention. The problem is you are already inflicting pain to that person emotionally. The more you give others cold shoulders, the more you are pissing yourself. Which only means it won’t do you any good.

During the silent treatment with my boyfriend he told me, “Wala ako dito para makipag-away" Of course, I remained silent. “Hindi ko alam tumatakbo sa utak mo…" and yet I expect him to somehow know how I feel. The worst thing  that I did, I made him suffer by being happy with my friends while ignoring him all along. Not realizing, I was already making him feel worthless because I’m not giving him any chance to fix the problem. I make him think clueless what might be the reason and what’s wrong.

It’s like a reflex. Once somebody do us wrong we don’t nag them because we know that silent treatment can make them suffer. And that will be our sweet revenge.  BUT, not communicating the problem won’t solve the problem. It’s also our way to calm ourselves, specially when your not sure about the approach you should do. It would be much better if you just stay away for awhile to give yourself a time to think and pull yourself together. But still it depends on how grave the situation is.

Now I therefore conclude that the best cure to silent treatment is being OPEN and  OPEN-MINDED.

Much better if…

BF : Saan mo gusto pumunta?

GF : nagugutom na ako… Hanap tayo ng makakain.

BF : Naku, ganon ba. Sige…

Eh di hindi ka pa nagutom. Kaya no more silent treatment :P

Morbid MMDA road signs

As strict measure for jaywalking MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) posted road signs highlighting how dangerous it is to cross the road by posting in all caps pink and white: "Bawal Tumawid Dito, Nakamamatay".  Despite of this threatening reminder, some of us still commit jaywalking.

To make it more effective it will be replaced with more morbid message saying, "Bawal Tumawid, May Namatay na Dito" with matching color combinations of black white and red.

Let’s watch out for the evolution of MMDA’s road signage.

Defective MRT Train Forces Passengers to Walk on Elevated Rail Tracks

Passengers of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) were forced to walk on elevated railroad tracks when one of the trains suddenly stopped between the Cubao and Santolan stations.

Radio dzBB’s Sam Nielsen reported several southbound commuters had to walk on tracks back to the Cubao Station in Quezon City.

“Nasunog ang wire, sa may Cubao … Doon lang ang tren sir (An electrical wire supposedly burned out. The MRT coach was left there),” said one of the commuters.

At least eight female commuters suffered minor injuries after being pushed out the MRT coach. One of the passengers said that when someone pressed a button activating the coach’s emergency brake, the door on the side of the railroad track opened.

My Search for Loosing Weight

The booth says “FREE FITNESS CONSULTATION". I signed myself immediately. They took my weight, body fat etc. etc. By the way I’m 5’4" foot tall, my weight? It’s 123 lbs. The dietitian approached me, told me that I’m already overweight and slightly obese. The sky suddenly fall apart… Oh no! I can’t believe it I’m obese… I know I’m over reacting. But that kind of “O" word is not acceptable for any girl like me.

After few sales talk, about fitness and how it can make a better new you. I enrolled myself in a gym at Slimmers World Marcos Hi-way branch. The first two sessions I have an instructor teaching me how to use the workout machines and some few routines. We agreed to obtain our goal and that’s to loose 8 lbs. and obtain my ideal weight 115 lbs. At first, I was very enthusiastic going to gym, announcing it every now and then at twitter. That was the first 3 weeks. Because of my un-so-predictable schedule at work it deprived me from going to gym.

By the way, I also tried Curves a fitness center exclusively for women located at 2/F Serendra, McKinley Parkway, Bonifacio Global City. The workout is different because it gives you a complete cardio and strength-training workout in just 30 minutes, which makes sure that you burn up 500 calories every time you do the work. Machines are specially built for women, it gets heavier as you go faster and it’s a total workout to enhance all the portions of your body. No treadmill, bicycles and elliptical cardio machines.

Intervals are machine - jog - machine - jog. By the way you can do anything in the jogging platform, you can dance etc. There’s a music and recorded instructor saying when to stop in the machines, cool down and check your heart rate. My colleagues told me I did loose weight after 2 weeks visit and I looked healthier. One month cost around 3000php last first quarter of 2010. But then again, I stopped my membership because my work transferred to Libis.

Aside from involving myself with physical workouts, I also tried other remedies like drinking slimming teas and coffees.

I almost tried all sorts of Slimming Tea sold locally like Kankunis, Kankura and Biguerlai. Well it’s effective when your constipated and you have excess  baggage in your tummy. The effect. Once you drink a cup of hot slimming tea, you will feel farting after an hour. There will be an excessive pain and rambling in your stomach. Once you feel all this awful sensation, congratulations! your body wastes are now ready to take of of. Expect the most gruesome solids in the toilet. Although it’s not highly recommended to take it on a daily basis cause you might end up dehydrated. Don’t even dare to drink this before you go to school or office.

The next remedy I tried is, Leisure 18 Slimming Coffee. My aunt recommended me to try it after witnessing drastic weight loss of their neighbor who religiously take it before meals. Unlike slimming teas slimming coffee is an appetite suppressant which means it helps you with your food cravings. I noticed I’m not craving so much. I can’t even finish a cup of rice rather a half rice only. Although its effective, I stopped drinking because I don’t like the taste and the after taste. I bought the white pack. They said the gold one tastes much better.

I’m still on search of finding the best remedy for loosing weight. I realized that I should take it the natural way by having a regular exercise routine and choosing healthy foods to eat. One thing I’ve learned, when your really that eager you have to learn the virtue of DISCIPLINE and I’m lacking this “D" word.

reminds me of my friend sowkie. LOL

Why I Fell in love with Panasonic Lumix LX3

Like any aspiring photographers and the urge to be “in", I was saving a portion of my penny to buy a DSLR. Well anyways, photography is indeed an expensive hobby. Looking for an alternative someone suggested me to try compact digital still camera instead of buying bulky DSLR.

Other Compact Digital Still Cameras those of Panasonic are sleek and has the ease of use. You can play with it by manually and automatically setting it’s exposure, ISO, white balance etc. Well, it’s more handy compared with DSLR.

That was the time when I saw this photo taken by Sherman Liberato using Lumix LX3.

Guess what, this is “Ilog Pasig" during night time. The moment I saw this I told myself I would definitely buy that camera.

Luckily, I got Lumix LX3 Christmas present from my ever loving supporting boyfriend. Right now I’m tinkering my LX3 and hopefully, will produce this kind of masterpiece.

Anyway, I still have high hopes of buying DSLR not for me but for my boyfriend. I’m targeting it for his birthday.

This incredible bottle school constructed in San Pablo, Philippines, is made from plastic bottles filled with adobe. (Photo by Kristel Gonzales)

An Innovative Concept – The First Bottle School in Asia

A cleverly constructed schoolhouse in San Pablo, Philippines, has become the first of its kind in Asia. Conceived and constructed by Illac Diaz (its executive director) and My Shelter Foundation along with the help of dozens of donors and volunteers, the innovative building not only helps to address a shortage of classrooms in the town by providing a brand new place for the children to learn, it also saves the environment.

The school is made from thousands of discarded plastic bottles (1.5 and two-litre water and soda bottles) that are filled with adobe, a combo that is relatively cheaper than concrete and is actually three times stronger. The empty plastic bottle of soft drinks have been donated to the construction site to help in the country’s building facilities as it struggles to provide universal access to basic education. Instead of throwing them away which could pollute the environment for 700 years, they have been put into extremely good use.

Why I “Love” and “Not Like” to be in Sales

I’m a graduate of B.S Marketing and Corporate Communications. I call this degree as “jack of all trades”. It’s very broad and tackles every field in marketing such as public relations, advertising, personal selling, and retail etc. etc.

On the 2nd year of my career life I ended up as an account manager of an IT firm. This primarily involves selling the products and services offered by your company. Creating new leads and successfully converting them in to accounts. Most importantly you have to maintain a large account which will later on serve as your bread and butter.

Anyway, I would just like to share the top 3 reasons why I would love to be in sales and definitely why I would also love to quit.

Let me start with why I don’t like to be an Account Manager:

1.     The pressure is always on. Especially on meeting your quota. Revenue is dependent on you so you always have to close an account. KRA’s and KPI’s are based on actual figures.
2.     Your name is always at stake. Being the one handling the account takes a lot of responsibility
3.     Demanding clients. This refers to the undying motto, “The Customer is Always Right”.

The reason why I would love to stay is:

1.     I get to meet different people. Be it on top management and ranking staffs.
2.     The joy of closing a deal especially when you know you really worked hard for it.
3.     The feeling of being important to the company you are working with. You’re paying back your salary in actual figures (if your performing of course)

Hopefully, I can hit the figures this year. Well, I really have to. If not, I’ll be the “falling star”. I’m giving myself this year. I once read an article about sales people. If you’re not really meant for sales then you don’t have to force yourself.
