Quarterly we conduct a Kultura session in our office. It’s a workshop for all employees to loosen us up despite of stressful situations at work.Today’s Kultura is about “personality". Ma’am Aly quoted some personality myths which often hinders us from getting to know other people.
My favorite part was about the "Johari Window" technique created by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham. This reminds of High school when we’re asked to perform it several times in group activities.
Johari Window Simply states the following: Window 1 is the part of ourselves that we see and others see. Window 2 is the aspects that others see but we are not aware of. Window 3 is the most mysterious room in that the unconscious or subconscious part of us is seen by neither ourselves nor others. Window 4 is our private space, which we know but keep from others.
So here in the office, were asked to write down positive adjectives to describe our office mates. Here’s what I got (and syempre I posted it)
I just come into realization. There are some things that we don’t appreciate about ourselves, but surprisingly other people recognizes it. Same goes with the bad habits that we have, that we need other people to remind us.
Kultura session at IT Group, Inc. we were asked to describe a co-worker with a single adjective :) adopting the johari window. (Taken with Instagram at IT Group, Inc.)
